December 2023

Seasons Greetings:

Do you suffer from the lack of daylight at this time of year?  Turn on the lights!  And most of us do this by lighting our homes inside and out for the holiday season.  Interestingly, we celebrate "the season of light" during the shortest days of the year.  Adding light to our lives brightens our outlook on life and inspires our hope for the world.  As Rotarians, we want to bring hope to the world in the areas of mental health and peace.

We will celebrate the season with our club's holiday party on Friday, December 29, at the Fruechte home starting at 5 pm.  Bring an appetizer/snack to share.

Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Naomi

Goals for 2023-2024
Here are some goals I set for myself and the club for this year.  How are we doing?
  1. Survey members to ascertain passions/interests.
  2. Determine community needs.
  3. Expand our reach--club think tank once or twice a year.
  4. Net increase of one member this year.
  5. Schedule two programs/speakers on mental health and two on peace.
  6. Continue the fundraisers:  rose sales, Quillin's cookout, and rummage sale.  Add parking cars at Wiebke's during fair.
  7. Increase sales of roses.
  8. Continue community service projects:  Neighbors' Day, contacts with Sibyl and Mary Jane, gazebo garden maintenance, Rotary Lights, scholarships, Imagination Library.
  9. Explore new projects: ie Helping Hands Backpack Project, Food Shelf "parklet", welcome new teachers.
  10. Create member-friendly meetings with fun and consider room rearrangements.
  11. Engage committees and their work.
