November 2023

Hello:

It's the month of Thanksgiving.  A holiday that makes us more conscious about expressing appreciation.  And I want to say thanks to all our members for serving so faithfully this year.  Because of you we carried out our responsibilities for the Helping Hand project, conducted a successful rose fundraiser (special thanks to Randy for heading it up), maintaining the gazebo gardens, remembering Mary Jane and Sibyl with phone calls or cards, welcoming new teachers, and being of service to our community.  Many hands make light work, as the saying goes.

November 3rd club meeting will take place at the County Highway Shop.  We will meet there at 7:30 a.m.  We will tour the facility and then have a brief meeting in a room at the shop.  No coffee or food will be served.

November 10 meeting will be held at the Elementary School Cafeteria.  Be there by 7:30 a.m. to help serve breakfast to the veterans who will attend the Veterans' Day Program.  If you are willing to help serve the students, arrive by 7:15 a.m.  We will also have breakfast there and sit in on the program.   We will not have a  regular club meeting.

Rotary Lights duty for our club this year is to tend to the S'Mores area on December 4 and December 26.  We will also receive the donated food for our Food Shelf those nights.  We will work from 5 to 9 p.m.  Four volunteers are needed for each night.  Joe has tentatively volunteered for the 26 and Dan volunteered for the 4th or 26th.  Now we need some more volunteers for this. . .hang out around the fire and add logs as needed, hand out S'Mores "makings", and greet people with a smile.

Due to Thanksgiving, the November board meeting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the Wired Rooster at 7:30 a.m.
